The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters of our planet. Beaten only by behemoth's such as the oil industry. From insane water wastage to plastic micro-particles wrecking our oceans, fast fashion is having a hugely negative effect on the environment.
Because of this, we're working hard to ensure that moving forward our supply chain is as non-destructive to the environment as possible and we've put together a summary below to show you how.
*Disclaimer* Not all of the products we sell are made using the following factories, but we are working on improving this!
Our factories are officially carbon neutral! They have achieved Carbon Neutrality under the United Nations Climate Neutral Now programme and they have the Carbon Neutral Gold Standard with the support of One Carbon World.
They also hold the following certifications:
- Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
- Fairtrade International (FLO Cert)
- SA 8000:2014
- ISO 9001:2015
One of our factories has also been contributing to reforestation projects at The Periphery of Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajasthan and Sundarbans National Park, West Bengal.
Our labels and swingtags are made in a GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certified factory. Our brand labels and care labels are made from 100% organic cotton and our swing tags are made from recycled garment waste.
While the fabrics we use change with each collection, we are making a conscious effort to use low impact materials wherever possible.
Current fabrics & dying processes:
- 100% organic cotton.
- 100% organic cotton twill.
- Organic cotton and recycled polyester (RPET) blend - RPET is made from recycled plastic bottles. This video explains the RPET process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyF9MxlcItw
